I‘ve been trying to research Visual Novels lately. I rarely can get engaged I know why but me being all “meh” about other VN’s makes me nervous that our game will have the same feeling.

What I’m trying to do is make the dialogues look natural, not forced and not very stereotypical like most japanese VN I’ve seen. So if you’re not fan of the ”oniichaan!!” “Kyaaa!” And characters talking about themselves in third person all the time, don’t worry, you won’t get anything like that here.

I‘m not saying those are bad, after all they wouldn’t be super successful if they weren’t good! And I’m sure the story is entertaining, I’m just saying that those type of things disengage me from the story.

Now, I don’t have training in writing either, all I can do is imagine what kind of story I would like to play and read and that’s what I’m doing... Also, this is my first time writing a VN, so maybe I am just in the wrong and I don’t know wtf I’m talking about hahaha....!!....ah.. please be gentle u_u...

The thing with night scenes is that it’s a bit tricky to color the characters and not make them too dark, make them pop out from the bg and still feel like its nighttime.

In this case we got Aya and Angie that are outside of Skyline City’s most popular nightclub, The 9th V0rte-x.

I didn’t color this btw, it was Ash...

When I grow up I want to color just like Ash...

Even if I’m older...

" I've been living in this city for more than 10 years now. I'm not a rookie in journalism anymore. This city has so much to cover in the news, that I made almost 80 % of all my career on it.

And I have to say, more than one time, its tall skycrapers, its neon lights and its people try to suck me me in, In its concrete entrails, inbetween its metalic bones, but I've always stayed true to myself.

They say that the name " Skyline City" was chosen in order to get closer to heaven. So high in this thick and poluted atmosphere that the city forgot the filth it has its feet in.

It's an enigmatic nest of corruption, deeply rooted in black market. We all know it, but what can you do when ten cops out of eleven are just corrupted to the bone...?

Nothing.

You can just hope that:

One, you don't get caught putting your nose too deep into corruption.

Two, you find people to trust and to deliver the real information the the honest citizens.

I'm not done with you, Skyline City, oh no....wait and see. I am not the only one to see clear through the darkness of your backalleys.

I have this gut feeling that something big is coming..." Tina Fidzgerald Journalist for the Report Zone.

Note from Ash : It has been quite tough those past days, quarantine is hitting me hard i think. The work load too. So I decided to take it easy. I've been working on this huge BG piece for the game. I'm pretty proud of it so far. One of my best piece ever did.

So yesterday Ash and I finished the day 1 of the writing for the game. We've never attempted anything like this before except in roleplaying sessions with friends and is not remotely the same.

The thing with this is basically you're roleplaying with multiple characters and everyone must have their reactions acordingly to their personalities. It's a lot of writing and checking if the player answer X, -this- has to happen, if the player answered Y, -this- other thing has to happen. If the player did a certain thing at the beginning of the game it affects the end...and such and such. It's hard to track!

I have no idea or skills in writing but I hope I'm doing a good job and making things fun and interactive.
